Slack and Microsoft Teams alerts

Slack and Microsoft Teams are both supported as alert destinations. This page covers install, channel scoping, and message format.

Slack

Install

1. Settings → Integrations → Slack → Connect.
2. You're redirected to Slack to authorize. Pick the workspace.
3. Pick the default channel (where messages go if a rule doesn't specify another).
4. Authorize. You're bounced back with a green "Connected" badge.

Per-rule channel routing

In any alert rule or scheduled audit notification, the channel selector picks any channel the app has access to. Add the app to private channels by /invite-ing @SEMOptimiser in those channels.

Message format

Alert messages use Slack blocks: a header line with event type, a body with the key data, and an action button linking back to the dashboard. Digest messages (daily/weekly) post once and thread each event as a reply to keep main channels clean.

Microsoft Teams

Install

We publish as an Adaptive Card connector. Two paths:

1. In Teams, go to the channel where you want alerts → ... → Manage channel → Connectors.
2. Search "Incoming webhook" → Configure.
3. Name it "SEMOptimiser", upload our icon (download from Settings → Integrations → MS Teams).
4. Click Create. Copy the webhook URL.
5. Paste into SEMOptimiser: Settings → Integrations → Microsoft Teams → Webhook URL.

1. Teams → Apps → search "SEMOptimiser".
2. Add to a team. Authorize via OAuth.
3. Pick channels for alerts.

Message format

Teams uses Adaptive Cards (richer than Slack blocks). Same content, formatted as a card with action buttons. Cards link back to the dashboard.

Rule-level configuration

Both Slack and Teams use the same rule system. Open Rank Tracking → Alerts (or Audits → Schedules), pick channel(s) per rule. A single rule can post to multiple channels at once.

Pause / disable

Toggle on the integration page pauses all messages without losing config. Resume from the same screen.
